Manager, Application Marketing – Power Electronics (Powertrain)

Job Summary

This role is responsible for application marketing in the automotive division, specifically within the VMO segment.
Overview:
You will be in charge of marketing our core automotive semiconductor products to promote sales in the Japanese market.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Application Marketing Group (AMG) lead for automotive power electronics (power conversion, powertrain).

  • Develop and implement mid-to-long-term business outlook and regional sales promotion strategies for the Japanese market. Target applications include passenger cars, commercial vehicles, construction and agricultural machinery, and electric two-wheelers.

  • Leverage both direct sales and distributor channels to propose system solutions incorporating our products, promote market adoption, and track industry trends.

  • Collaborate with Sales and FAE teams to manage and achieve performance targets (sales revenue and design wins) for the relevant applications.

  • Gather market needs and trends from Japan and report them to headquarters in Germany, contributing to new product proposals; this role involves working in English.

Regional Application Marketing (AMG) for Automotive Power Electronics (Power Conversion/Powertrain)

  • Create and deploy Japan region go-to-market (G2M) strategies for inverters and/or battery management systems (BMS) across target markets: passenger vehicles, commercial/agricultural vehicles (CAV), and light electric vehicles (LEV).

  • Promote system solutions and expand product adoption through both direct and distribution channels.

  • Collaborate with Sales and FAE to ensure KPI achievement: revenue and design-wins.

  • Provide insights into markets and competitors, propose value propositions and business cases, and support product positioning, pricing, and roadmap from a regional perspective.


Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in semiconductor marketing (mid-level).

  • Native-level Japanese (ability to report and communicate accurately).

  • Business-level English (TOEIC score of 700+; able to communicate face-to-face).


Desired Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Experience with power electronics (especially powertrain-related) products—marketing, sales, or design.

  • Background in the automotive industry.

  • Positive and proactive mindset.

  • Logical thinking skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team.

  • Basic computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).


Preferred Experience, Skills, and Conditions

  • Sales or FAE experience with power semiconductors or microcontroller (MCU) products.

  • B2B customer-facing experience in a manufacturing company.

  • Proactiveness and leadership ability.

  • Desire to challenge new technologies and work in a company with strong training programs.

  • Flexible business communication skills.

  • Willingness to adopt hybrid or flexible work styles (e.g., remote work).

  • Aspiration to become an expert in automotive semiconductors.

  • Experience working in the semiconductor industry.

  • Experience studying or working abroad.
